▌ Overview
The Perodua Myvi has been Malaysia's best-selling car for most of the last two decades. Built on Daihatsu's K platform and assembled at Perodua's Sungai Choh plant in Rawang, Selangor, it's a domestic icon that punches well above its price.
The 3rd generation has been on sale since 2017, with a major facelift in 2022 that added ASA 2.0 ADAS (pre-collision, lane-keep), six airbags, and a revised front end. Two engines are available: 1.3L (95 hp) and 1.5L (102 hp), both paired with a 4-speed automatic.
It pairs unkillable reliability with low running costs and the densest service network in the country. Where it loses points: ride quality on broken roads, dated infotainment, and limited rear legroom for adults. But for sub-RM 60K, it's hard to argue with the value proposition.
